map

what’s a map

but a line between somewhere else and home
the london tube
umbilical
sustains
a rush hour’s every day of
being
home

now home’s online and when the internet is down

a rift and dread

as if a one of us is –

disconnect

I count the cabin- windowed hours –

as I once traced the motorway and furlongs’ thudding hand beat count on knee as cars flashed fast along the new M4

– the door to door – a link that saved my father and my aunt – who’d thought an eighty mile divide / a continent …

the covid epidemic – made my children flown, – occupants of other hemispheres – now years unknown –

I yearn – to fly away from home to home

bird-like called by turning seasons,

blown –
